Beijing Institute of Technology and China University of Political Science and Law sign a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing.
Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Jan 4 in Beijing to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership. The two universities will deepen cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, discipline construction, and other areas.
Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, congratulated CUPL on its outstanding achievements.
Zhang pointed out that BIT and CUPL share geographical proximity. Both universities participate in the national mission of serving China's modernization. He hopes that based on their respective strengths, the two universities will enhance interdisciplinary cooperation to promote the cross-integration of digital technology and the humanities, arts and social sciences.
BIT President Jiang Lan said that the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has brought new opportunities and challenges to higher education. BIT and CUPL will jointly promote the cross-research and integrated development of digital technology and the humanities, arts and social sciences, so as to achieve the fusion of "law and technology".
Jiang Zeting, secretary of the CPC CUPL Committee, and Ma Huaide, CUPL’s president, expressed their hope that the two universities, taking the signing ceremony as an opportunity, would jointly address the contradictions and challenges brought about by the industrial and social structural adjustments resulting from technological developments such as artificial intelligence. Jiang also emphasized the need to promote the cross-integration of cutting-edge technology and the rule of law.
Under the agreement, the two universities will engage in in-depth cooperation in cultivating professionals, building discipline, scientific research, faculty development, social services, international exchanges and other areas. Through collaborative efforts for mutual benefit, BIT and CUPL aim to achieve high-quality development and provide qualified professionals and intellectual support for the country's economic and social development, as well as for building a strong educational system and reinforcing the rule of law in China.
