BIT achieves excellent results at 63rd Track and Field Games for Capital Universities

The 63rd Track and Field Games for Capital Universities were held on May 15-18 at Beijing Information Science and Technology University. Thirty-nine athletes from the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) participated in the event and won six gold, three silver and seven bronze medals, as well as the Sportsmanship Award and Outstanding Coach Award.

The Track and Field Games for Capital Universities is the highest-level regional student track and field competition in the country. This session of the competition attracted 1,721 students from 89 higher education institutions in Beijing. The BIT athletes excelled, showing great prowess in sprinting, jumping and throwing events.

Their gold medal count ranked third in the A Group (University High-Level Group).

Since enrollment in the Sports Education major opened in 2024, BIT has continuously expanded its efforts in scientific training and medical care, applying advanced experience to public teaching, achieving synchronized improvements in athletics, public teaching and students' physical health.  BIT will continue to integrate sports and education, further explore the cultivation of competitive sports talent in universities, and contribute to building a sports powerhouse with the strength of BIT.
