A Nature editors' campus tour event was held at the Zhongguancun Campus, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), on May 30.
The event also serves as an important part of the BIT's 2025 high-level scientific research paper enhancement training program series.
Jiang Lan, BIT's president, warmly welcomed Vice-President Young Cui of Springer Nature Group and her team for their visit.
Jiang introduced the recent high-quality development of BIT and expressed his hope to combine the strengths of both sides with Springer Nature. He said that by offering Nature master classes, collaborating on the development of research capability enhancement courses, and jointly organizing high-level international academic conferences, the two sides can further deepen cooperation in the fields of scientific research innovation, talent cultivation, and international exchange.
Cui reviewed the cooperative journey of both sides, expressing the intention to fully leverage Springer Nature's strengths to provide BIT with higher quality services and strong support.
After the meeting, the Nature editors' campus tour special report event was held in the BIT library, where Young Cui delivered a speech.
Dr. Giampaolo Pitruzzello, senior editor of Nature Photonics, gave an overview of the Nature series journals, trends and innovations in scientific publishing, shared details about the editorial work, author submission guidelines, and practical methods, and answered questions from teachers and students in detail, creating a lively atmosphere of on-site exchange.
Over 200 teachers and students attended the event, which further deepened the understanding of high-level journals and academic publishing among BIT's teachers and students, providing impetus for enhancing the university's research and academic influence.
