Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) hosted the "2025 Experience China: Beijing-Zhuhai Intelligence Forum on Industry-Academia Integration" event in Beijing on Sept 27, creating an academic and cultural feast for over 60 international students in China.
The event combined academic depth, industry practice, and cultural richness, showcasing China's technological strength and dynamic development from multiple perspectives.
During the forum, Professor Liu Shuli delivered a lecture titled "The Interactive Relationship between Academia and Industry", analyzing how academic research supports industrial development and how industry needs, in turn, to feed back into academic innovation. Associate Professor Che Haiying discussed the development of intelligent software engineering, systematically explaining its core role in digital transformation, which elicited an enthusiastic response from the international students.
During the session for reports by doctoral international students and alumni representatives, students from diverse academic backgrounds at BIT and other renowned universities shared their cutting-edge research findings in areas such as the industrial internet and new energy.
In the interactive segment, international students actively asked questions, leading to a dynamic exchange of ideas that broadened their perspectives.
Students from the Zhuhai campus also participated via a live streaming platform, facilitating cross-regional academic collaboration.
During the practical visit activities, the international students visited Yonyou Industry Park, where they toured digital office environments and enterprise software platforms. Many expressed admiration, noting that "the innovation capabilities and industrial strength of Chinese companies far exceeded expectations."
This forum has not only built a bridge for dialogue between academia and industry but also created a practical classroom for international students in China to integrate knowledge and practices. BIT will continue to deepen international exchanges and cooperation, supporting more international students in becoming ambassadors connecting China and the world.
