The Third IPv6 Technology Application Innovation Competition, organized by the China Education and Research Network, recently concluded in Beijing. The Beijing Institute of Technology's (BIT) team won the first prize in the Science and Education track and the second prize in the national finals.
This year's competition was themed "AI empowering internet technology innovation and development". In the Science and Education track, the BIT team stood out among 173 national projects and 60 teams that made it to the finals. They distinguished themselves with rigorous technical demonstrations and an outstanding live presentation, winning the first prize.
The team's project focused on upgrading the IPv6 system based on an IPv6-supported campus network, centered around the university's Yanhe Classroom smart teaching platform. This upgrade enabled dual-stack access (IPv6 and IPv4) for both on-campus and off-campus users of Yanhe Classroom. By leveraging the advantages of IPv6+ technology, the project features wide application coverage, excellent user experience, and high security.
Their award-winning case was also included in the 2025 Education System IPv6 Large-Scale Deployment and Application Case Collection. The selection of this case as one of the 32 exemplary cases nationwide signifies that BIT is at the forefront among national higher education institutions in exploring IPv6 network infrastructure development, smart campus applications, and key technological innovations.
