Over the past five years, the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) has significantly advanced its comprehensive reform efforts, integrating internal resources to establish a distinctive "grand service" system. This system focuses on supporting students throughout their entire growth cycle and addressing all their needs.

By leveraging smart technologies, BIT has enhanced six major processes: academic planning, administrative services, employment coordination, psychological support, education funding, and data governance. The university has created a multi-campus service network centered around five key areas: employment services, education funding, academic guidance, compassionate services, and smart empowerment.

BIT has also established a teacher development training system based on a holistic development philosophy. The system emphasizes "online as the primary method, integrated services as supplementary, and self-service as a complement", providing one-stop services for faculty. This approach aims to reduce burdens and empower faculty and students, enhancing their sense of belonging, achievement, and happiness while laying a solid foundation for cultivating future leaders.

The newly opened faculty and student service hall at BIT's Zhongguancun campus exemplifies this system. It features a welcoming environment, AI digital assistants for interactive Q&A, and 24-hour self-service facilities, offering a superior and convenient experience for faculty and students. This hall is not only a new campus landmark but also a vivid representation of BIT's "grand service" system.

In education funding, BIT has implemented a six-in-one excellence award and assistance system, deeply integrating financial support with ideological guidance and capacity enhancement. Over the past five years, BIT has distributed approximately 22.79 billion yuan ($326.31 million) in student aid, earning recognition from the Ministry of Education as a national model for educational support. For 28 consecutive years, BIT's "green channel" has provided seamless admission support for economically disadvantaged students, ensuring that no student is denied education due to financial constraints.

Employment is a critical focus for BIT, seen as the "last mile" of student services and a key measure of educational effectiveness. The university has built a high-quality employment service system driven by Party leadership, scientific organization, and smart technologies. BIT's graduate employment rate and quality consistently rank among the top in China.

BIT continues to expand high-quality employment channels, offering over 800,000 effective job opportunities annually. More than 70 percent of its graduates secure positions in key national units and cutting-edge scientific fields. To further enhance precise employment guidance and services, it has established multiple studios that conduct over 120 online and offline lectures, group counseling, peer counseling sessions, and more than 500 individual consultations annually, serving over 6,000 students.

BIT's service system has evolved from fragmented services to integrated systems, from manual to intelligent processes, and from basic support to educational empowerment. This transformation has streamlined growth, enhanced efficiency, and better met the needs of students and faculty.

Moving forward, it aims to further standardize, professionalize, and smarten its services, establishing itself as a national benchmark for educational support.
